It was genuinely special to welcome over 330 educators to ISZL. From the very first moments, including the surprise student performances and the energy in the room, through to the final conversations, there was a real sense of warmth, openness, and shared purpose throughout the conference.

It was a privilege to welcome so many dedicated educators to our campus and to witness the spirit of collaboration that defines our profession. When educators gather with openness and courage, something powerful happens: our schools and our students' learning experiences become stronger together.”

Barry Dequanne (Director, ISZL)

What stayed with us most wasn’t just the programme (although 55 sessions, 14 workshops, and countless conversations is no small thing), but also the way people showed up. You were all curious, generous, and willing to learn from one another. Over the two days, we saw it in the packed sessions, in the quieter conversations over coffee (all 2,000 cups of it…), in the work of our 31 incredible student ambassadors, and in the willingness of so many of you to share ideas, challenge thinking, and connect across schools.

Well done to the ISZL team for hosting such a wonderful SGIS Conference. The feedback received so far has been very positive, from speakers, delegates, and exhibitors alike. It was wonderful to feel such a positive buzz as SGIS teachers from across Switzerland shared and learned together. Thank you to all delegates and exhibitors for attending. We look forward to seeing you again next year.”

Bradley Roberts, SGIS President of the Board

There were also moments that simply made us smile, from the closing drummers to the buzz in the exhibitor hall (our biggest yet), and even a birthday celebration that reminded us how personal this community really is. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this happen, including our speakers, presenters, exhibitors, and, of course, all of you who took the time to be there.

From an SGIS perspective, this conference was a strong reminder of why these gatherings matter. For the ideas we take away and for the reassurance that the work happening every day in our classrooms is part of something bigger.

And perhaps most importantly, that we are not doing it alone.

Please mark your diaries for the next Annual Conference on 12-13 March 2027 at the International School of Zurich (ZIS). We hope to see you there!
