Dr. Ulcca Joshi Hansen is a cultural futurist and author whose work explores what it means to be fully human during periods of rapid social and technological change. Her award-winning book, The Future of Smart, challenges the assumptions underlying modern institutions. She is at work on a new book, On The Edge of Inside, which examines how we navigate identity, belonging, and transformation when old structures no longer hold. A first-generation American who began school as an English-language learner, she spent her formative years across four continents, and speaks to audiences navigating uncertainty - from international platforms like COP26 and TEDx stages to schools and organizations grappling with the implications of artificial intelligence. 

Her work has been featured in global platforms such as TEDx, COP annual events on climate and policy, and The Washington Post. She holds a doctorate from Oxford University in philosophy, neuroscience, and human development, and a law degree from Harvard Law School, and her public service has been recognized through the Truman, Marshall, and Soros Fellowships.
