The Iterative Curriculum Process: Driving Student Learning through Continuous Improvement

Friday and Saturday Sessions

This workshop introduces the “Iterative Curriculum Process”, an approach modelled on iterative design principles, where continuous reflection and refinement are key to enhancing student learning. Teachers will explore practical tools that help them critically assess their curriculum, focusing on how iterative considerations impact student engagement and learning outcomes.

Participants will learn how iterative cycles of reflection—identifying what works and what doesn’t—can lead to meaningful curriculum improvements. By emphasising the impact of each curriculum adjustment on student learning, this workshop will guide educators in making data-driven decisions that foster deeper engagement and more effective learning experiences. Central to this process is the importance of feedback, both from students and colleagues, as a tool for refining how curriculum is delivered and received in the classroom.

By the end of the session, participants will understand how to apply the iterative process to continuously evolve their curriculum, ensuring it remains responsive to student needs and maximises learning outcomes. This workshop empowers teachers to make informed, incremental changes that drive long-term improvement in student success.
