Leading for Impact: Building on strong Foundations for Lasting Learner Impact

Trillium Hibblen

Director Commission on International Education (NEASC)

06 March, 14.00 - 17.00

This workshop will explore how the NEASC Foundation Standards lay the groundwork for schools to design strong strategy and plan for learner impact. The session will allow participants to consider how Intentional Design, Collecting Evidence of Impact and focusing on Sustainability across each of the 6 Foundation Standards sets the standard for a high-functioning school. With a strong foundation, school leaders will explore how they can build high-impact strategic priorities.

The session will include workshop style collaborative activities to explore some of the frameworks that support the success of strategic initiatives, such as:

  • Considering the 4 C’s (Commitment, Conceptual Understanding, Competence and Capacity) that along with Culture, affect the success of transformational change strategies

  • Developing the Shared Understanding of High-Quality Learning

  • Embedding change into 7 systems to maximize impact

  • Developing Major Learning Plans tied to learner impact

  • Communicating for impact
