ABOUT THE POSITION
Le Régent International School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior School Class Teacher to join our team for the Winter Term, from January to March 2027.
Our Junior School welcomes children from Kindergarten 1 to Grade 5 and offers an international curriculum combining the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and elements of the English National Curriculum for English and Mathematics.
We are looking for an internationally minded, flexible and caring teacher who can create a stimulating classroom environment and encourage curiosity, confidence and a genuine love of learning.
As a class teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for both the academic progress and pastoral care of the pupils in their class. They will know their pupils well, recognise their individual strengths and needs, and provide the appropriate level of support and challenge.
Candidates should hold a recognised teaching qualification and have relevant experience of teaching within the Junior School age range. They should be confident in planning and delivering engaging lessons for a range of abilities and be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues across the school.
Experience of the IPC and/or IEYC would be an advantage, as would experience in an international or multilingual school environment.
Le Régent places great importance on learning beyond the classroom. Teachers are expected to contribute to the wider life of the school, including co-curricular activities, trips, outdoor learning and school events. Depending on the year group and role, this may include involvement in Forest School, sport and other outdoor activities.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working within a school with a strong boarding community and willing to contribute positively to the wider life of Le Régent.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent.
Relevant experience teaching within the Junior/Primary age range.
A high level of spoken and written English.
An ability to create engaging lessons which meet the needs of a range of learners.
A caring approach and a strong commitment to the pastoral wellbeing of pupils.
An international mindset and an ability to work with children and colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds.
A collaborative and flexible approach to school life.
A willingness to contribute to co-curricular and wider school activities.
Experience of the IPC and/or IEYC is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of French or another language would be an advantage.
An interest in outdoor education, sport and skiing would be beneficial.
Above all, we are looking for a teacher who is kind, enthusiastic and committed to helping children develop academically, socially and personally, and who will play an active part in the life of Le Régent.
