ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a well qualified, experienced and flexible candidate who is a strong team player able to independently operate in a dynamic and exciting teaching environment. The Learning Support teacher works collaboratively with students, their families, and the School Student Support Teams and Faculty, supporting students to be self-directed learners and strong self advocates. The Learning Support teacher is responsible for creating and implementing strategies for a diverse range of learners. The successful candidate will join a team of teachers and therapists providing multiple levels of service and individualised support for students, both within grade level homerooms and subject classes, and in a specialised setting.
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the area of Special Educational Needs, working with children with a range of learning needs and disabilities across grades 6 - 12. Experience of working with children with more significant learning needs and with emotional/ behavioural challenges would be an advantage.
