Location: Academia (talent brand “Swiss Academy Zürich”)

Type: 60% - 80%

Profile
As the Deputy Head of School you will oversee and manage the two locations in Zurich and Winterthur and - supported by the Head of School and the Swiss Academy Group's Executive Board - set yourself the goal of fully expanding the schools in the next 3 to 5 years, with a particular focus on selling, talent development, quality, branding, community building and communication of Swiss Academy Zurich.

In addition, you will be actively involved in sports coaching and help - together with the sports team - to provide a sport-friendly school learning environment for the students in general and give attention to individual conditions of the young athletes for optimal talent development.
 
Responsibilities

School Leadership

  • Manage and ensure the operational day-to-day running of the school, leading and developing the various stakeholders (organization, support, acquisition/networking, teaching staff (with academic leadership)
  • Co-lead and execute the sales process (admissions, info events, trade fair visits, networking visits, cultivating the sports ecosystem,)
  • Further development of the school in the various relevant areas (training and programming, talent development, branding, social media, infrastructure, networking/community, process optimization)
  • Pupil and parent work (reports, parent meetings and feedback)

Sport-friendly learning environment

  • Maintain contact and regular exchange with club and association representatives
  • Guidance and support with regard to career planning
  • Creation of an individual weekly plan/training schedule
  • Coordination of the weekly schedule/training plan with school education
  • Active support in self-organization (teaching sustainable strategies)

Talent Area (Sports)

  • Maintain and expand an attractive whole school talent programme
  • Initiate and carry out projects and activities that bring together different groups within and across schools
  • Further develop and implement a holistic talent curriculum in line with IGCSE and A level standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within and outside of our school to enhance the overall school curriculum
  • Stay abreast of current trends and innovations in talent education
  • Be proactive in the greater Zurich talent development scene and have/strive for a well-established network in this industry
  • Participate in relevant events, networking with other professionals and actively seek out new collaborative projects

Skills required

  • A high level of creativity and the ability to effectively coordinate different partners and resources
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Familiarity with sports ecosystems and talent development in general in the greater Zurich region

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Education or related field
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Familiarity with IGCSE and A level curriculum (distinct advantage)
  • Visionary, proactive, and self-motivated
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about talent education and student development
