ABOUT THE SCHOOL

About the School - Four Forest Bilingual International School Lucerne:

Four Forest is a nurturing bilingual school community that celebrates each child’s unique strengths and supports them to thrive—wherever their future may lead. At the heart of our mission lies every child’s happiness and development, nurtured through curiosity and a love of learning.

We are proud to have two schools located in spectacular natural surroundings: one in Zug, overlooking the majestic Rigi, and one in Luzern, directly on the beautiful Rotsee lake. These inspiring settings provide the perfect backdrop for learning, exploration, and personal growth.

As small schools where everyone knows one another, we foster a strong sense of belonging and a warm, family-like atmosphere. Our robust academic curriculum is enriched by a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom, including clubs, Forest School, sports programmes, and special events—giving students meaningful opportunities to grow and flourish.

At Four Forest, we follow both the Swiss Lehrplan 21 and international best practices to ensure a well-rounded, future-ready education.

We are guided by three core values: Community, Integrity, and Curiosity. These principles shape our teaching, our relationships with families, and the way we lead and manage our schools.

Together, we create a vibrant, caring environment where every student can discover their potential, ignite their passions, and step confidently into the future.

The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Primary Class Teacher (English) to join our fantastic team.

ABOUT THE POSITION

About the Role:

In this role, you will teach within our bilingual 50–50 programme, where pupils alternate weekly between an English‑speaking and a German‑speaking class teacher. You will create engaging, meaningful learning experiences across the primary curriculum, drawing on the Swiss Lehrplan 21 and international frameworks. Working closely with your German‑speaking partner teacher, you will ensure continuity in routines, vocabulary, expectations and subject content so that pupils experience a cohesive bilingual learning journey. You will plan, deliver and evaluate high‑quality lessons, support children’s wellbeing, and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration and confident communication. Alongside your teaching responsibilities, you will assess learning, communicate regularly with parents, and contribute actively to school life through meetings, reporting cycles, events and supervision duties.

This is a permanent, part-time (50%) role.

Who We Are Looking For:

You will be a great fit for this role if you:

  • Bring native or near‑native English proficiency and feel confident teaching English language learners.

  • Communicate clearly, warmly and professionally with pupils, colleagues and parents.

  • Plan creatively and adapt lessons to meet different learning needs and language levels.

  • Enjoy working collaboratively with a German‑speaking partner teacher within a bilingual 50–50 model.

  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to create engaging, interactive and accessible learning experiences.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports curiosity, wellbeing and respectful behaviour.

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils and families, contributing to a strong home–school partnership.

  • Assess learning thoughtfully and use insights to guide next steps for each child.

  • Show enthusiasm for working in a multicultural, bilingual school community.

  • Bring experience teaching primary‑aged children, ideally in an international or bilingual setting.

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s in Primary Education, QTS/PGCE or equivalent).
