We are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Assistant to join our team, someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. This role is crucial in providing academic and emotional support to our students, while also ensuring their safety and wellbeing. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Working in close partnership with the class teacher to establish an appropriate child-centered learning environment for the children
  • Delivering high-quality support to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Assist in the delivery of educational programs and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional help.
  • Monitor and support student behaviour, promoting positive choices.
  • Facilitate inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
  • Supervising the children at break/lunch time and other unstructured times
  • Under the direction of the class teacher, helping to ensure that the classroom environment is well-managed, properly ordered and neatly presented
  • Under the direction of the class teacher, working with individuals and groups of children

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures, and code of conduct
  • To engage in safeguarding training when required
  • Ensure that the children are always safe and secure
  • Act as a safe point of contact for students who may need to discuss issues of safety or wellbeing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of a high school diploma; a degree in education or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of current safeguarding and child protection legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach to student learning and development.
