We are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Assistant to join our team, someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. This role is crucial in providing academic and emotional support to our students, while also ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Key Accountabilities
- Working in close partnership with the class teacher to establish an appropriate child-centered learning environment for the children
- Delivering high-quality support to enhance student learning experiences.
- Assist in the delivery of educational programs and activities.
- Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional help.
- Monitor and support student behaviour, promoting positive choices.
- Facilitate inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
- Supervising the children at break/lunch time and other unstructured times
- Under the direction of the class teacher, helping to ensure that the classroom environment is well-managed, properly ordered and neatly presented
- Under the direction of the class teacher, working with individuals and groups of children
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures, and code of conduct
- To engage in safeguarding training when required
- Ensure that the children are always safe and secure
- Act as a safe point of contact for students who may need to discuss issues of safety or wellbeing.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a high school diploma; a degree in education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of current safeguarding and child protection legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and supportive approach to student learning and development.
