Teacher of Physical Education
100% – 2-year contract – August 2023
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the teaching and learning of physical education throughout the secondary school effectively
- Contribute to a programme of trips, excursions, fieldtrips and extracurricular activities
- Accompany the teams to sport tournaments
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes
- Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training/meetings
- Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body
- Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the physical education department and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions etc.
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in physical education with QTS status or equivalent
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching with at least three years’ experience, ideally in an international environment
- Knowledge and proven experience in teaching physical education in secondary
- Experience in teaching DP Sport exercise and Health Science along with the delivery IGCSE PE would be a strong asset
- Fluency in English, ability to speak French would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills and team player
- Have the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
- Strong organisation skills and use of technology for administration and teaching
- First aid qualification or willingness to achieve this
- Clear criminal extracts
- Valid work permit or European nationality are an asset
