For our Secondary School, we are seeking to employ an inspirational

MYP Digital Design and DP Computer Science Teacher

Full-time position from 1 August 2019

The successful candidate shall have experience of delivering and promoting computing and computational thinking skills. The role is expected to be split evenly between the MYP and DP programmes. The appointee will be teaching to Year 8 and Year 11-13 students.

Main responsibilities

  • Planning, delivering and evaluating IB Diploma Computer Science and IB MYP Design (digital) lessons which stimulate and motivate students to learn
  • Contributing to the School’s well-being programme as a homeroom teacher
  • Contributing to the School’s after school activities programme in the area of coding and computer science
  • Taking an active role in service learning

An outline of the role
The role of Psychology Teacher in the Secondary School requires inspiration, passion and adaptability as an educator.  The successful candidate should be an outstanding motivator, learner, administrator and communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills, and should be capable of preparing students for International Baccalaureate programmes in a stimulating, challenging and well-organised learning environment. He/She should be able to provide high quality teaching and learning, make effective use of resources, and ensure achievement for all students. Initially, a contract for this current academic year will be issued with a possibility of permanent employment starting in the 2019/20 academic year.
SEN (Special Educational Needs) teachers at OBS take responsibility for the academic and social development of their students. We expect an active role in the school community as well as the willingness to teach the students in close collaboration with the teachers and within a larger team. Furthermore, we expect readiness for further education and lifelong learning, participation in school boards and school development.
